My wife and I took an early retirement, sold all our
assets,bought a pop-up trailer and set out to explore.After
4 months of camping from state to state we arrived in
Mexico. We travelled around Mexico for a couple of months
and than settled in the old colonial heart of beautiful,
modern Queretaro in central Mexico. We rented a casa and
settled down to a peaceful, inexpensive lifestyle. Even
though we don't work our days are full and never boring.
If I can be of assistence to others of you out there who
may be thinking of doing something similiar I would be
happy. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

Hi Sam
Well done for "getting out". I'm touring this summer which
will include Mexico but I would like to be very nosy and
ask just how much you need to settle with an adequate
lifestyle?
Thanks
G
Hi Sam...
I don't know if you'll be able to help at all, but here goes..
My girlfriend and I (both English) have recently done a TEFL course (teaching English as a Foreign Language).
We are in the midst of deciding where to go and MExico is a definite contender.
Do you know anything of the situation regrding teaching work? We were thinking of just flying to Mexico City and taking it from there, but do you have any advice re. visas/ work situation or anything else that may be of help?
If not, do you know of any places in Mexico that I could contact direct? Our plan is to leave London in September some time.
Hope to hear from you, and congratulations for getting away- hope I can do the same!
Hi Sam,
We did the same as you about two years ago but are still
traveling around, looking for a spot to settle eventually.
Presently in Manzanillo but headed out in our RV in your
direction in about 5 weeks. If you are up for it, we would
enjoy spending a few hours over coffee or cerveza
discussing and comparing experiences. Let me know directly
to my email address if you are interested. Koyote Karlos,
