I was in Mexico recently and met a girl who had just
crossed over from Guatemala. I told her of my plans to
travel through Central and South America later this year -
she said there is a new jump-on jump-off bus service
servicing capital and major cities and I would hear about
it when I got there. Does anyone know if such a thing
exists, where it goes, how much it costs, etc.?

This isn't new. But the Tica Bus has been doing this for a
long time. Runs mostly by day. Usually between capitals. You
can always count on some low end hotels near the Tica bus
terminal. A bit more expensive than the chicken bus though
not necessarily better than them. Some people say that it
takes longer to cross the border with them. Like to hear of
the new service. Would add some competition.

they let you off the bus just about anywhere but only let
you on at the bus station in each capital.
