Hello travelfolks!
I will go to Tikal in june and since I┤ve got the impression
that the place is pretty up-market-touristy and very well
frequented, I would appreciate very much some info on A
CHEAP SIMPLE BUDGET PLACE TO STAY, same goes for PALENQUE in
Mexico.
thanx for your support, Jennifer

At the ruins itself, there are only 3 small expensive hotels
that are always full. Almost all people stay in the town of
Flores, about 30 minutes away, where there are many places.

It is possible for you to sleep in a hamac under a little
shelter. Over the hamac, there is a net to stop bugs. It is
not to much expensive and it's just beside the site.
otherwise, food is very expensive there.

Those hamacs are COOL. slightly uncomfortable, $5.US and
you get to sleep outside! easy to take 'secret' night
adventures ( and listen to all the animals in the jungle at
night, it is the best option) seriously the best time in
the park is after 3:00 because ALL the tourist buses leave
at 3 or 4 and that leaves no one there whos not staying the
rest of the night. your not supposed to go into the park
after about 6, but depending on how adventurous you are
there are options for nightime adventures. l8r smhh
