Hi again, you all
I posted this a while ago, and have had worthy respons, but it would be interesting to hear some more. The problem description:
I hope this isn`t an improper question.
I am wondering how the legislation is in Mexico and Guatemala. Particularly regarding weed, pot and similar. It's not important too me, but it would be nice to know if you could get into a lot of trouble if you accidentally come across it, and even more accidentally get caught!
Is it easy accessible?
And as "zoro" and " fellow smoker" said warn of the dangers, but don`t preach. I know there are difference in opinion on this matter, but let`s take that elsewere!!
"La vida loca" or somthing

  1. It is available but be careful Added by: Pot Head

In Guatemala Pot is available in most tourist areas. If you
are wanting to buy some go to San Pedro across Lake Atitlan
from Panajchel. It is openly smoked in many places at
night and day and you will probably be approached by other
    gringos selling it.
The quality is shit as far as I am concerned but it is the
    only thing around.
Do be careful though. I have seen people put in jail for
having weed. Use your common sense pot is ILLEGAL in
Guatemala and the police would love to have a reason to
    hassle you.
    Good luck

  2. Here is what I do Added by: another pot head

As an american and frequent traveler to Mexico and Guatemala I always take grass with me INTO those countries. I always make sure to return to the States with NOTHING. I just take enough to use for the amount of time that I will be on vacation. I store it in an empty film container which I put with my other film containers. My luggage has never been searched going into those countries. The film container seals nicely and blends in well with the other containers containing legitimate film. One container of clean grass lasts me at least two weeks. I find this is much easier than trying to score from strangers in other countries. I would be interested in how others handle this situation.

Just like in the States and elsewhere, all is well UNTIL you
run afoul of the law. Difficult enough to tell friend from
foe at home; consider how difficult it is in a strange town
where you stick out like a sore bong. It seems I've heard
that the Central American prisons are a good bit less
pleasant than the prisons in the North, but I for one do not
intend to find out from experience. I spent a year in Japan
smokefree because I didn't care to sample their hospitality
either. Thanks for your view Another Pot Head, I have
wondered about doing just the same method, but opted for
    tequila as second best.

Mexico utilizes drug dogs these days...use them on buses, trains & on the ferry from la paz to mazatlan. On the train from DF to san miguel they stopped it 3 times within 7 hours for inspecitons. One time they even opened my flashlite to inspect it...glad I wasn't carrying.

with another pot head- I have taped a small amount in my
underware, like our friend above i feel you are in more
danger buying than importing. But the post on mex is scary.
can anyone expand- thanks- the preacher zo

i never experienced the dog searches, i was there 5 months
ago for 5 months and did a lot of bus travel. There are
military stops where big army guys come on with big guns
and stare at you and may ask for ID. i always pretend to be
asleep. they are there more to prevent highway hold-ups by
bandits (never happened to me, but it's suppossedly
common.) i've never carried anything on me nor do i buy
down there. i just seem to meet generous sharing people.
    probably because i'm a chic.
