I want to go somewhere warm and sunny for Spring Break next
year. I've heard that Belize has some wonderful beaches and
diving...but I don't know a whole lot about costs. I don't
want one of those crazy expensive resort tours. Any
suggestions/comments? Thanks in advance.

I'm sure that you will receive tips which are a lot more
    helpful than this one but...
Try looking for accomodation on Caye Caulker or Placencia.

I havn┤t been in Central America before but i┤ve been doing
extensive research about the place since i┤m going there in
a month for two months. My advice is the Bay Islands in
Honduras. If you are looking for diving in fantasylike
conditions, cheap, Utφla or Roßtan would be my NR 1 choice.
Belize appears to me as primitive with a bad infrastruktur,
one paved road in the ENTIRE contry, also expencive due to
the many turists. Maybe you shouldn┤t rule out Belize
completely, the diving sounds incredible but i don┤t think
you┤ll have the same options in Belize compared to Honduras
if you would like to do something else besides diving.
    Have fun, I will!

Your money will go a longer way in Mexico.

  4. good but expensive Added by: texasgirl

i was in belize five years ago so my advice might be dated,
but i agree with the poster who said you'd get more for
your money in mexico. belize diving is wonderful, but the
food especially is quite expensive _ and mexican street
food is much better! _ and we even found the budget
accommodations on caye caulker pricy for what you get. i
would recommend the yucatan for diving, and as long as you
stay out of cancun, you can find reasonable places to stay,
    eat and entertain yourself...
