Hi everyone, Mike here with 16 Days to go.
This is a followup question to the one about hammocks.
Does anyone know how it works at Coßpan? Do you get thrown
out after dark or is it possible to sleep at the site over
night in a hammock? It would of been a cool memory...
Mike

I would presume they would kick you out. Sure you could hide
until dark. However, last time there I wandered into a
densely wooded area where it was very dark and was
immediately attacked by swarms of mosquitos. If the whole
place gets that way at night I could see it being very
    miserable.

I've never been to copan, but i've been to similar isolated
ruins such as tikal in guatemala. during the day is fine,
but you need to watch out for bandits upon sundown who mug
and even kill tourists. Some tourists got killed sleeping
overnight on top of a temple in tikal some years back.
don't risk it, get a room.
