I hate mosquitoes, but they LOVE me...
How bad are they in Central America?

    In the lowlands they are bad. In the jungle I've found the
    shady spots to be the worst. Also right at sundown(happy
    hour?). A breeze helps. Use repellant that has a high DEET
    content. REI sells 100% DEET..read the warnings and don't use
    it on kids. If you really are bothered more than most
    people..and yep I seen it happen..try adding B vitamins or
    garlic to your diet. May be old wives' tale but many swear by
    it. Mosquito coils are for sale everywhere and do work..not
    sure about breathing that stuff all the time.
