Where would you Honeymoon?

Where would you go for your honeymoon if you could pick a
small hotel in a beautiful and somewhat remote village on a
beach for a honeymoon? Fishing, ruins, diving, and hiking
are desirable.
This 30ish couple are no longer students so can afford
moderate prices. They will have only one week's stay during
the last week of July, and I have the assignment to create a
couple of itineraries to offer them. Two recommendations so
far: Capt. Swizze (sp?) near Tamarindo, Costa Rica; and Las
Chozas near Troncones, Mexico. Look forward to your
recommendations.

There is no doubt in my mind that it would have to be the
Xcalak Peninsula on the Mexican Caribbean.

Wonderful carribean lifestyle, lots of english speakers if
that is an issue. Can live like an absolute monarch for less
than $50/day per couple. Beautiful diving, sailing, etc etc.

well, since the bay islands are blown to pieces I would say
Costa Rica. Eihter somewhere around Montezuma on the
southmost part of the Nicoya peninsula or Manuel Antonio
near Quepos down south on the west coast. If you want
something even more out of the ordinary try Nicaragua.
Montelimar on the west coast is luxury. Different but
fantastic is Corn Island in the Caribbean. Stay at El
Paraiso, owned by a Canadian guy from Montreal.
    Ciao

  4. Playa Tambor, Costa Rica Added by: Cher

Based on the above I would stay at Tambor Tropical resort.
Beautiful hardwood luxury cabins on a safe beach. Dining
under the stars, palm trees, pool, jacuzzi, hammocks,
activities, all in a small village. Just down the beach
from the mega-resort Hotel Playa Tambor but a world away
from that sort of bustling, upscale atmosphere. Tambor
Tropical is romantic and the locals they use for activities
such as fishing and horseback riding really put you in
touch with the real Costa Rica and at a reasonable cost!
    Best Wishes to the honeymooners.

    Hi Sheila,
I agree with Marcus' suggestion of Costa Rica around Quepos
on the Pacific coast. An intimate, Victorian, honeymoon
hotel you could check on is La Mariposa. It is easy from
Quepos to visit natural areas, beaches, river rafting,
    fishing...have a great time!

Fishing, ruins, diving, and hiking would definitely be easy
    to find in Belize.
Cha Creek, Belize has a wonderful "Jungle Lodge".
A river runs by the property - it's lovely to swim in & the
    hotel has it's own canoes.
They also have their own stables with horses to suit all
    levels.
    Perfect place for a honeymoon.
