Storing Plane Tickets

We are leaving tomorrow morning for a 3 month stay in CA.
We fly into Cancun and leave from Cancun and are wondering
if it is necessary to carry our return tickets for the whole
time. Is there a safety deposit box somewhere or will
American Airlines hold our tickets for us. Will we be asked
for our return tickets when crossing the border into Belize
Guatemala or will a photocopy be good enough? Thanks for
your help,
Lindsay

i heard rumours that you were asked for the return ticket
when going from nica to cr. that didn't happen to me. nor
when i went from mexico to guate. as for storage i wouldn't
think that aa refuse to take care of your tickets for you.
    but quien sabe?
    ciao

We've been to all the Central American countries in the
last two years and were never asked for a return ticket. I
think they're very appreciative of the tourist business and
    don't want to discourage it.
    Have a great trip.
