Which bars/pubs do people reckon are the best in Australia.
I'll start by saying the Boubon and Beef Steak in Kings
Cross has got a lot of atmosphere.
Where else do people reckon?

has heaps of excellent pubs especially the norfolk (love the
beer garden) and Clancy's Fsih Pub. I work there and I still
think its great.
I had great times in O'Malley's and Kings Cross
Hotel...check them out!
I liked the Woolshed in Cairns and the DownUnder Bar in
Brisbane. Both are a bit out of control and very much the
meatmarket but I had a fabulous time! Dancing on the tables
is expected!
BEST BARS!!O`Malleys,Mansion and King`s X Hotel in Kings X.
Mercantile in The Rocks is fab!!!The Hero of Waterloo close

any town in Australia,
you'll no doubt find one.
Better hurry up and get over here before they all paint
their names over with something like "The Blarney Stone".
Those DIY Plastic Paddy Irish Pub Kits are all the rage
right now - just hang up sign that says "Guinness on tap"
and instantly, like magic, all your grandmothers are from
Cork...
..................Bay Hotel!
Obnoxious as it could be at times (full of drunken poms), I
do miss the old girl. Especially when I think of how I
used to while away the hours with a cool drink on a hot
Sunday afternoon. Now, I while away my Sunday afternoons
in smoky London pubs.
If you want to experince some true aussie pubs, try coming
to The Newie in Armidale ... it goes off!
JOHNNO'S BLUES BAR (CAIRNS)
DOOLEYS (BRISBANE)
THE COURTHOUSE (PORT DOUGLAS)
THE BOTTOM PUB (COOKTOWN)
THE TORRES HOTEL (THURSDAY ISLAND)
LALLY'S PUB (NORTH STRADBROKE ISLAND)
THE CRITERION (TOWNSVILLE)
THE BLUE HEELER (MIDDLE OF QUEENSLAND,KYNUNA)
GOD I NEED A DRINK!!!!!!!!
The Watsons Bay Hotel is great on Sunday afternoons, when its fine and sunny its even better.
The Customs House Hotel on the waterfront is good and
friendly and has some ggod music some nights. Knopwoods in
Salamanca Place is great to watch the ferals of the market
wander by and also a good meeting place on Friday nights.
I agree that the Coogee Bay hotel is tops as well.
The New England Hotel in Armidale really goes off. I grew
up in Armidale and can say that it is the friendliest town
(we call it a city) in Australia. See you at the
Newie!!!!!!!!!!!
Popular pubs in Melbourne:
The Punters' Club (The Punnas)
The Esplanade Hotel (the Espy)
The Builders' Arms
The Public Bar
The Great Britain
The Prince of Wales (is it still a pub?)
*The Rochester Castle
I'm sure there are more...
pub in St. Kilda mentioned in post #13 is for chutney
ferrets. So are most places along Oxford St. in Sydney.
Just in case you get a nasty surprise....
