AMERICA - Jewel of the Western Crown

Everyday I read posts from Australians who hate America,
hate Americans, and aren't shy about telling anyone who will
listen. In fact there is a post like that on the N American
branch right now! So my question is this: why do you
people keep coming here in droves if you can't stand the
place? Is it some perverse Aussie right of passage to
endure a trip to someplace you hate? Your numbers
have become so overwhelming of late here, that Congress is
now considering a bill to build a giant wall across the
Pacific to stem the tide! I myself always take my holidays
somewhere I like ( and that is why I don't go to Australia).
But answers from those of you able to read and write (is
that too much to ask?) is appreiciated.

    with this obvious tosser.
listen mate, if the world was to suddenly stop, half the
american population would be walking around with their head
    up their arse....
I'm surprised you actually know where Australia is - just
west of Poland ain't it ???

I don't hate all Americans (how can I, I've not met that
many of them.)However I do rather dislike morons, of any
    race.

    Are you sure you're not english? The U S of A hasn't
been part of the crown colonies for 223 years. If you
don't like Australians, why are you posting here, ya
    pompous jerk?
PS. My one British joke: An american goes to
Newcastle, England and is told by his friends not to
let the people know that he's an american."Why?" he
asks, "ARE they still bitter?" cheers

I don't quite follow your post, are you implying that
    Americans are a "race"?

I don't think the Aussies should be single out for American
bashing. Many countrymen and women like to do it here on
the TT. But what I've found is that those that bash the
States have actually never been there. So really, it's
kind of inverse to what you saying Yankee Doodle.

  8. There are idiots everywhere Added by: Terry the Canadian
[Timestamp: Wed 19 May, 13:37 Tasmanian Standard Time]

What is all this bashing business? I have travelled to many
parts of the States and just love it. Americans are
different, although not a 'race'. They have their faults,
but don't we all have our little annoying traits. I've met
some very rude and ignorant Aussies, Kiwis, Brits and even
my fellow Canadians. That does not mean it is right to
condemn a whole nation. I really understand that some
Americans can stand out a bit and be annoying, but who the
hell cares. The US, with all of it's problems, may not be
the greatest country in the world on a great deal of
counts, but its citizens are individuals, and they don't
    deserve to be singled out.

  9. Don't just blame the Aussies Added by: ROTW
[Timestamp: Wed 19 May, 15:55 Tasmanian Standard Time]

    Y.D. Dickhead,
Don't just blame the Aussies for hating Americans you'll
probably find that distaste for Yanks is a worldwide
phenomena. Unfortunately, and yet sadly, you're doing very
    little to redress the balance.

  11. Oh Brother Added by: Saffie
[Timestamp: Wed 19 May, 20:16 Tasmanian Standard Time]

    To Yankee Doodle...
I've read some of your posts scattered throughout this
forum. I must say, if you're trying to speak for all
Americans, don't, because you can't speak for me.
Personally, I have come across some Austrailians that
don't care much for Americans. It may be hard, but you
cannot take that individuals opinion and say that all
Austrailians are that way. I hope to go to Austrailia
someday to see the diversity of the country. What a
wonderful experience it could be. I have had fears that I
would arrive there to find that there were prejudices
against me, just because I'm an American. It would be such
a shame if I were discriminated against because of that. I
really hope that doesn't happen. I am an open minded,
intelligent, individual. I will go to Austrailia with the
expectations that the people there will be as open minded.
So Yankee, it's okay to have your opinions, but instead of
trying cause more separation because of our cultural
differences, accept them as something that makes us all
    unique and important. Peace.

I don't hate Americans thanks, I actually think the
majority of US people are quite nice, and some of my
friends are American. It's just the minority (that you
obviously come from) that are downright pathetic and
seriously need to get a brain. Or a life. Or both.
A PS to Mick Dundee: your posting was a class reply, I
    couldn't help but laugh!

  13. stupid yankee frat fuck Added by: ameri-grrrrrl
[Timestamp: Fri 21 May, 11:34 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I bet that for every rude Aussie there are 50 nice ones who
don't post hateful drivel or respond to it. All the Aussies
I have met here in the US were very fun people. They can
drink me under the table anyday and manage not to puke. On
top of that, they also managed to attend their classes, make
decent grades and not whine about being hungover the next
day. You sound like a fraternity boy. All those frat boys
    are a bunch of
    flag-waving-blinded-by-testosternone-pack-of-first-rate-lose
rs. Go back to your stupid keg party at your frat house with
watered down beer (probably natural light)and leave the
Aussies alone. And if you are not in a fraternity, I
suggest you check it out. They are full of assholes like
yourself who never do anything but drink lousy beer and
    start fights.
And if you did start a fight here, I would put 20 bucks on
    Aussiegirl2000 anyday.

Just a shot in the dark; are you a woman in her 30's? We
would have met in Banff in '89 or so skiing with some mates
of mine, you drove down from Canada to the States a couple
times, once with a boyfriend, a POME. I think you might
    have been from Vancouver originally.

But we do know how to spell 'appreciated'. Aren't we
sophisticated? We haven't had bad impressions of Seppos
before, but maybe now we will. By the way, do you think you
would benefit from doing one of those intensive body
searches to find a very small, almost un-noticeable
appendage and seeing if you can tug on it? That's about it
    for now. Be well.

  18. Take it easy Added by: Proud Aussie
[Timestamp: Sun 23 May, 17:12 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Lets just take it all easy most people I think can see whats going on here. As for you Yanky Doodle do you really think that you can tell that every Australian is abusive to the USA just because of a few postings on the internet. I've personally travelled to the States 3 times and am about to go again in a month or so, so I can tell you first hand by personal experience that its a great place so I know that their not all people like you with a chip on you shoulder. I dout you have been to Australia to see for your self wether we are what you think we are. There are good and bad people all over the world I've been to 25 countries and thats what makes travelling interesting learning about all the different type of people around the world and thats what makes every one want to go back to their home country because they like it best which is only natural. All in all I think you will find Australia a pretty good place considering we started off from a bunch of convicts

  20. In the first place.. Added by: Heather
[Timestamp: Tue 25 May, 16:23 Tasmanian Standard Time]

will you all please STOP, CEASE & DESIST from refering to the people who live in the USA as Americans? I answered a note some months back from a person who lived in the bit of the CONTINENT of SOUTH AMERICA
as to what he should call himself if he wasn't able to say he too was american. I have no idea what you can call US citizens ( no hints please from those of you who don't care for them) .. Yanks is probably incorrect too...perhaps we could say we won't bother to call them anything, you know the old( paraphrased) saying " don't encourage them , they might go away". And those of you who cannot use reasonable language on the site, and need to resort to insults of a childish nature, buy a dictionary, so we can read something more original in the line of insults and bad language, than wog and dickhead!! P.S Someone like to tell me WHY we would need the USA?? (Do we really NEED to know how to pick on smaller countries and shoot our school children enmasse, I thought we'd already found that out for ourselves?)
