My fiance and I are moving to Australia in late August and,
as we're getting married just before that, we are thinking
of stopping en route for a short honeymoon somewhere in the
South Pacific (vague I know). Anyways, we're looking for
suggestions of romantic relaxing places for a 3 day
stop...Any ideas? Thanks

Fiji, Vanuatu, Tahiti, Thailand or any pacific island really. There are also heaps of beautiful places in North Queensland, Victoria and...well it depends what you like.

Which direction are you flying from. The places mentioned
above are en route from UK or Europe. If you are flying from
USA, then you have the choice of The Samoas, Cook Is, Tonga.
These are all still great Pacific Is without the great
    tourist Hordes.
The advantage of Tonga is that August is the whale season.
They come there to calve and rear their young for about 3
months before they migrate south to Antartica.
If you decide on Tonga then fly north to Vavau you will not
    regret it.
If The Cooks then a must see is Aitutaki.
Have a great honeymoon, take a few days longer, you have
your whole life ahead, plenty of time to rush

I flying over the Pacific go to Aitutaki. I haven't been there myself but know people who have and they loved it!! See the OZ islands when you are here.

We went to Fiji, stayed on a little private island, and did
the blue lagoon cruise aroind the Yasawa's (Brilliant) Then
flew on to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora - taking 6 weeks in
all. You may not have time to do all of that - but if you
get a chance to go to any of those places in the south
pacific - you won't be disappointed.
If you need sources of info for planning, just email me,
    I'll help where I can.

You should go to a beautiful resort off the mainland of
Fiji's Coral coast called - Vatulele. Absolute paradise,
the locals will take you to a natural water cave place and
summon the prawns to swimm at the top of the water and then
you can swim through the caves and its gorgeous. Only aloud
15 couples max at a time on the island and no kids aloud.
    Perfect honeymoon place
