Read many conflicting reports recently about access to DR
Congo. Some say W to E Africa overland is no longer
possible. Others say the DRC is wide open, friendly and
no visas required.
What's the latest on access, visas, etc?

  1. A Nasty Little War is Raging Added by: Malc

the first one was right...there is a pretty horrible war
going on in the DR Congo. East to West and you are setting
yourself up for extortion on a level not seen since ...
Mobutu! Most American, British and other westerners are
being deported at the airport for not paying bribes ranging
into the upper hundreds ... diplomats included. Give it
up ... the country is a death trap with each town east of
Kinshasha under seige that includes Kalemi, Kisnagani and
all points east. Whites in the east, if confronted by
rebels, may be considered Serbian and Russian Mercenaries
fighting with Kabila. The border region with Rwanda,
Uganda and Burundi are the worst. Check the news reports
on the security situation ... this website has a whole
section on the DR congo war - www.realworldrescue.com
