Can anyone recommend accommodation in Lilongwe and on the
shores of Lake Malawi? Thanks in advance.

I found Annie's Coffee shop a bit grim- but then again
Lilongwe does not have that much to offer. There is also a
camp site, or in town the new wing of the council resthouse
(sound dodgy but apparently it is nice) The Gap,
backpackers mentioned in the LP does not exist any longer.
If you go to Senga Bay (wicked)stay at Baobab, a 2-3K walk
down the beach with little huts plus en suite bathrooms, on
the beach- you can haggle the price down (African run!)
Don't stay at Hippo Hide, fairly grotty, and lots of
complaints about stuff being stolen as it is near the
locals. Definately pay Senga a visit- got the best wood
markets in Malawi. Njiah is wicked- but if you can't
handle the walk, Africa Bay is good fun. Finally in
Blantyre- Doogles Backpackers- the one and only!
