there was a ghanaian honorary consul in Sydney a few years
ago, it was a lot of paperwork but reasonably straight-
    forward!
It cost $120....of which $40 went to dubious bank fees!!!

    Erica,
I was in the same predicament last December. The
Honorary-Consul here in Perth wanted $120! I was flying
Egypt Air to Accra via Singapore and Cairo, so I ended up
getting the visa in Singapore for S$50 in 1 working day.
I later learnt that you can apply at any of the Ghanaian
missions in Africa, where they all charge around US$20.
As for Egyptian visas, no problem - they're routinely given
    for US15 on arrival.
P.S remember to take your Yellow Vacination Certificate with
    you!
    Happy travelling, Tim.
