ADVICE ON OVERLANDING

We are 4 girls planning to do an overland trip in August. We've read a lot of info on all the different companies and it seems to be a very competative business. We fly to C.Town end of July and would really like to have it organised as soon as we get there.
I've spoken to others who recommended Umkulu Adventures and I've seen quite alot of post from guys who have been on one of there tours. Also Epic that a friend of mine has been with. If anyone could give us some more helpful advice about these companies, or any others it would be really appreciated.
thank you

Pls check my thread on the thorn tree (probably around No
56 by now)- i am running an exploratory trip in a light
aeroplane at around your time and it will be FOR PEANUTS! A
group of four would suit me well.

Hi, I did an 8 week overland trip from Nairobi to Capetown
(they do them in reverse as well) starting last September
with Worldwide Adventure Travel and they were brilliant.
They are on the budget end of the market but have very
comfortable trucks, easy to put up tents, good food, good
company and great staff. Also they have three staff members
on all of their trips - driver, courier and cook which is a
bonus as many of the companies only have 2. The company is
owned by an Australian guy - Thommo, who was really great in
helping me out when I had my money belt stolen in Nairobi
just before the trip as well (oh by the way if staying in
Nairobi do not stay at the Heron Court Hotel).
To find out infomation about Worldwide in Australia we had
to go to one of the African specialist travel agents.
Whatever you do have a great time - I'd go back in a second
    Sharon
