Mr. Steven's Resthouse in Cape Maclear

Has anyone been to Mr. Steven's resthouse in Cape Maclear,
Malawi recently. Do you know if the Stevens brothers
George and Ernest are both still alive? Any general
comments or information would be appreciated.

   I'm surprised that no one has answered your thread - i
   guess it is because it seems to have no purpose. the
   stevens brothers were famous in the early '90s because
   basically that was the only accommodation of the
   peninsular. i can never remeber which one is which, i think
   that george is the businessman and ernest is the drinker!
   anyway accommodation was pretty unclean, food was catfish
   and chips or chicken and chips and warm beer and soft
   drinks. since then he has seen off some of the south
   african competition who would offer great meals, ice cold
   beer and a smile. i guess he's still in business and ernest
   is still drinking the profits. that's the price of fame.
