Hi I'm planning on tavelling to Morocco from Spain
    [Algeciras] during this coming
July and August and I'd welcome any up todate info. on
backpacking around the country. I've read in the L.P. that
it's possible to go white water rafting in the High Atlas
mountains near Bin el-Ouidane lake in the area around Azilal
and Afourer. I'd really like to do this so would especially
appreciate any info. re rafting. Thanks. Alex.

  3. Just came back... Added by: Hub

...from Morocco 3 days ago, and it was great!
I had read a lot of things about huslers but it was quite
fine compared to what I expected. Maybe it is because I use
to live and travel in Africa and that it is not realy
different but I think that if you keep a calm and
respectfull attitude there is no problem, you only sometime
waste time when you don't want to be rude.
Juste and advice, if you want to better negociate something
you want to buy do it as late as possible in the day.
I was asked several time if I had something for barter, I
did not but maybe it is a good way to get
Where you should go depend on what you like. As far as I am
concern I enjoyed the landscapes in the High Atlas, Ourika
valley, Oukaimedem for exemple are very nice.
Essaouira is a must, it is very nice, very peaceful, and a
good place for shoping (Tuya roots handcraft particularely,
    do not purchase anywhere else).
We also did the road from Marrakech to Ouarzazate and it is
very good too. The city of Ouarzazate has nothing
particular but the road itself and the location is a good
reason to get there. It took me 4 hours to go and 3 hours
    for the return.
I rent a car in Marrakech, and if you intend to do the same
I recommand Concorde Car (beside Hertz, front of Avis), I
paid 450 DH (more or less 46 USD) per day for 4 days, full
insurance included for a Peugeot 205 (enough if you do not
go on tracks). They are very competitive, very serious, and
    also very nice.
I hope you will enjoy your trip as much as I did!

  4. leaving soon... Added by: charlotte (csun@bellsouth.net)

Help, I'm leaving for Morocco in 3 days, any tips are
appreciated, looking for cheap hotels in Fez, Cassablanca
and Marrakesh. I'll be meeting my cousin there, so there's
two of us splitting the costs. And for any females out
there, just how badly am I going to be harrassed? I'm
hearing that the male population could be a major pain in
the butt to deal with (no offense, guys! :) )
