My absolute favourite spot for time beeing is Iceland.
This country has all the character there is. Especially for
divers as me, diving between the two continents in ice cold
    water. Diving with whales,
    plus trekking...
Capitol Reykjavik is definitely a place to be on friday
    evenings and nights...

..is a beautiful country with the friendliest ppl in Asia.
Stunning rice terraces, white sand beaches, volcanoes,
rainforests and brilliant-blue water and coral reefs
    surrounding coconut palm fringed islands.
Some of the cover-bands i have seen in Manila sound as good
as the original western singers and some guitarists are just
    amazing.
    I love them jeepneys.

Great Barrier Reef Australia, if you love to dive and love

another world - it's amazing and I've dived all over the
    world.

[Timestamp: Wed 16 Dec, 10:40 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Tell you what folks... you all can talk avout Australia,
about Tibet, about Morocco... but when I get the chance to
travel back to my mom's kitchen in Newton Massachusetts for
some MMM-MMM good home cooking... fuhgedaboutit! This is MY
HAnDS DOWN travel destination of all time!

  13. home Added by: vdm
[Timestamp: Sat 19 Dec, 0:48 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I enjoy to travel and enjoy myself where ever I end up
traveling to - but most of all - after a very good
vacation I always feel the best after I have travelled back
home. Familiar bed. Familiar food. Familiar shower.

  14. It HAS to be: Added by: An Englishman in Lapland
[Timestamp: Mon 21 Dec, 10:42 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Romania. Fantastic scenery, the most hospitable people you
could ever meet, a pleasing lack of backpackers (you
couldn't say that about Nepal or India), and a good bit of
disorganisation, risk and spontaneity to spice things up!

  15. BEAUTIFUL BRITISH COLUMBIA Added by: MY FAVOURITE
[Timestamp: Fri 25 Dec, 3:18 Tasmanian Standard Time]

British Columbia (and parts of Alberta). Great place for
outdoors stuff. great skiing----best powder anywhere.
Excellent moutain biking. Nice girls too....

  16. My favourite? Added by: Greta
[Timestamp: Mon 28 Dec, 15:41 Tasmanian Standard Time]

It has to be Yemen. I think it has the most spectacular
scenery ever. The people are friendly (even whilst
kidnapping you). The north is beautiful but I prefer the
south with it's fascinating blend of all sorts of cultures
    and people.
Second choice would be DR of Congo (former Zaire). Probably
not a good time for a visit these days but it is really
very beautiful and those people know how to party!!

  17. Selamat Datang ke Negara Maleyu Added by: Deamer
[Timestamp: Sun 3 Jan, 10:28 Tasmanian Standard Time]

My favourite place is Malaysia. The people are adorable,
the climate suits my taste and the culture's fascinating.
But of course Malaysia's not unique - it's just that my
experience was. I think it was those roti canais dengan
kari ikan (indian pancakes with fish curry), which
eventually stole my heart. Malaysia's a jewel, really.

  18. Malaysia and Jordan Added by: Catherine
[Timestamp: Wed 13 Jan, 15:01 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Malaysia is one of my favourites too (all the excitement
and beauty and friendliness of SE Asia without the tummy
upsets). My other favourite is Jordan (great people and
Petra has to be the most amazing place I have been anywhere
    in the world).

  19. Check this out.... Added by: Stinky (stinkyrules@yahoo.com)
[Timestamp: Mon 18 Jan, 3:39 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I've been to plenty of places on this earth but I would
probably pick the Annapurna Sanctuary in Nepal. The funny
thing is that I frequently ask this question of my fellow
travellers. While I've met many people on "the happy trail"
over the years, you might like this story....
two years back while I was in Lapaz Bolivia, an Englishman
that I was packing with tells me his Favorite spot after 2
1/2 years on the road was the same Annapurna Sanctuary.... I
rest my case (because this was not the first time someone
    had selected the sanctuary).
    ....Enjoy
