Hello, I'm planning to travel from Hong Kong to Paris over ten-eleven months. I have as 55 liter backpack, the type that opens like a suitcase, not the dig in from the top type. Do you think that I should try to get a smaller pack, or not? One important factor, i will be travelling with a guitar, so i need to be able to attach it to the pack. Anyway if you have any thoughts I would welcome them. Thanks

  1. size doesn't matter! Added by: Bron

I have a 55 litre and I love it! When I travel, it's only ever
half full, but at least I have the option of filling it up if I want
to. Plus, when I'm lazy - I just shove my sleeping bag in
without even rolling it up. I find it's much more flexible
having one a little too big than too small.

55 litres is more than enough. and only half-fill-it, like
Bron says. gotta have room for souvenirs, right? besides,
you can buy what you need as you travel. t-shirts and crap
like that are never expensive. but i dunno about the
guitar. it'll make you really popular, but it may get
stolen or busted. plus it's a pain to mover around with in
crowded places, and not many places in asia have lockers
big enough for an acoustic, except maybe at the airport or
a major bus station. it's a gamble - you might love it,
    you might regret it.
