Higher Resolution
Engineers and scientists at NASA are working on a new generation of X-ray detectors to provide the highest resolution X-ray astronomy pictures ever. These detectors would use X-ray interferometry and could get resolutions as good as 300 nano-arcseconds. This is 300,000 times better than the Hubble Space Telescope! One such mission in the planning stages is MAXIM, which would be used to resolve features of the event horizons of black holes.
