Searching Your Computer for Media

SIREN will search specified system drives for supported media files, and add links to each song or video clip in the My Media view of the Media Library tab.

To search your computer for media

  1. From the Options menu, choose Search Computer for Media. The Search Computer for Media dialog appears.

  2. From the drop-down list, specify the drive to search.

  1. Select the check box(es) corresponding to the desired media file types.

  2. To move all media files into the my media folder, select the appropriate check box. If this check box is cleared, all media files remain in their current location and SIREN simply adds the appropriate links to the My Media view of the Media Library tab. If you want to move only certain files to the folder, select the Ask before moving each file checkbox and you will be asked every time a file is found.

  3. Click Search. SIREN searches the specified drive(s) for media files and indicates the number of files found.

The search process can be halted by clicking the Cancel button.

  1.  Click OK to return to SIREN's main screen.
