Adding Song Information Manually |
Generally, SIREN retrieves and displays song information from a CD or local database. When this information is unavailable, SIREN can connect to CDDB, either automatically or when prompted by the user. If SIREN cannot connect to CDDB, or the appropriate CD information is not available, SIREN displays generic song information. For example, when inserting a CD that does not contain song information, SIREN simply lists the tracks numerically. In cases like this, information can be added or edited.
Prior
to ripping from a CD for which SIREN was unable to retrieve song
information, you should manually enter song titles, artist, and
album. This allows SIREN to copy this information with the audio tracks.
From the Edit menu, choose Rename, or right-click the selected song and choose Rename from the shortcut menu.
Enter the correct information and press Enter.
Select the song, and click in the cell below the column to be edited. SIREN is placed in edit mode. Enter the correct information and press Enter.
Select the song, and choose Properties from the File menu or the shortcut menu. Edit the information in the Properties dialog and click OK.
When song information is edited, SIREN reorganizes the song in the Media Library tab. If the new artist, album, or genre information does not have a category, SIREN creates a new view and places the song in it.
Only the following fields are editable: Album, Artist, Comment, Genre, Name, Track, Volume Name, and Year.
