Creating Custom Data CDs

The process for creating data CDs and audio CDs is very similar except that SIREN automatically closes a data CD after the songs are written to the CD. Once it is closed, songs can no longer be added.

To create a custom Data CD

1. From the Preferences/CD Settings dialog, verify that SIREN is properly configured to burn CDs.

2. Verify that a supported CD-R/RW drive is connected to the computer.

3. Select the media to be written to the CD from the Media Manager panel.

4. Click on the Add to Burn List button . The songs appear in the Burn CD tab as a burn list.

5. Select the Burn CD tab to view the burn list and verify that the Data CD icon is selected as the Disc Type.

6. Enter a title for the CD in the Disc Name box and select a directory and filename format.

7. Click the Burn to CD button . The Burning CD dialog displays a progress meter and approximate time remaining in the process.

Sonic Foundry recommends allowing SIREN to complete this operation. Clicking Cancel may render the CD unusable.

Once all of the files are written to the CD, SIREN begins closing the data CD immediately. A dialog displays the progress and time remaining.
