PC Expo: Cool Furniture
03 Jul 2000 08:00 EST
One of the coolest things we saw at PC Expo was a collection of desks by Comta of Taiwan. They make some really stunning furniture, including the ZIP computer desk.
The design of the ZIP would compliment your PowerBook, G4, Flat Panel Studio Display, or Cinema Display. It includes a removable tray that keeps your tower off the ground and makes for easy wheeling. It sells for US$249 and comes in gray/silver (pictured) or black/silver.
Their latest creation is a line of iMac inspired desks called iCom Workstation. These babies go for US$349 and are available in Ruby, Sapphire, Amber (more like orange), and Emerald. We couldn't find them listed on the Comta Web site.
Comta has been in the business of furniture molding for about 15 years. The products we saw a PC Expo were very sturdy, very attractive, and very functional. If you're looking for high end furniture, this may be the ticket.
