Toyota AFV | ecom

The e·com: An electrifying new idea - just the right amount of car for getting there.
Getting there. It's a simple function. But more often than not, getting there involves lugging around excessive amounts of steel while leaving behind a stream of unnecessary emissions. The solution? For many it may be Toyota's new electric concept car, the e·com. Ideal for universities, resorts, planned communities, corporate campuses and the like, e·com is just the right amount of car for getting there. And doing so with some rather innovative technologies. It uses 24 sealed nickel-metal hydride batteries (NiMH) linked together to produce 288 volts. This power provides a range of about 60 miles on a single charge with a top speed of 62 mph. The e·com not only conserves energy, it restores it with an advanced regenerative braking system that captures much of the energy lost while braking and returns it to the batteries to extend its range even farther. Innovative systems like these help e·com keep you on the go.
