This integrated line of home smoke and carbon monoxide monitors, including the only portable CO detector on the market, focuses on the main user interaction area with an oversized test and nuisance alarm button. Research showed that broomsticks are the primary "tool" used to deactivate a false alarm, so the Sheltra features a large, indented button that can be easily engaged with a broomstick. To guide users in the appropriate response, written protocols lie behind a flip-down door. Styling details clearly differentiate between smoke detectors designed for the kitchen, bathroom, hallway or bedroom.

" The simple, clean forms blend in with the intended environment. The common details build on the family of products theme. Overall, this is a well-supported, simple, yet innovative design of a family of products."
