Product Description and Evaluation Software

IRIS InSight Professional Publisher allows technical writers to create InSight books, SGI help cards, and hardcopy manuals, all from a single FrameMaker source document. This evaluation copy of IRIS InSight Professional Publisher 1.0 and FrameMaker 4.0 provides you with the tools and templates necessary to create FrameMaker source documents, and convert them to indexed SGML InSight books and SGI Help cards. Frame source documents for InSight books can also be used for on-line documentation on other platforms with compatible DynaText viewers from Electronic Book Technologies.

Books created with IRIS InSight Professional Publisher can also be published for the World Wide Web. Included in the upcoming Digital Media Systems "Desktop Special Edition 1.1" software offering, the IRIS InSight Dynaweb(TM) Server will convert InSight books and "chunk" them into formatted HTML from SGML on the fly, without any manual data conversion. IRIS InSight's sophisticated searching capabilities and hyperlinks will also be maintained. (Desktop Special Edition will be available calendar Q4, '95)

IMPORTANT: IRIS InSight Professional Publisher requires IRIX 5.3, the IRIS Development Option (IDO), and FrameMaker 4.0. The IRIS InSight Professional Publisher and FrameMaker evaluation software are included in this directory of the toolbox in inst image format.

To use the evaluation copy of IRIS InSight Professional Publisher, netls_eoe is required (which can be loaded from your "IRIX 5.3" operating system CD). You will also need to install a temporary license. To add the temporary license, copy the following two lines into to your /var/netls/nodelock file.
