SGI Digital Video Specification The dig_video_spec.ps postscript file describes the SGI Digital Video Specification describes the SGI Digital Video specification. The specification defines the data format, electrical and mechanical interfaces used to get digital video data into and out of the Silicon Graphics platforms via this 60-pin connector. This connector is found currently on the Galileo Video cards for Indigo and Indigo2, the IndyCam port on the Indy, the IndyVideo board and the Cosmo Compress cards for Indigo and Indy. From page one of the spec: This document defines the electrical specifications of the SGI Digital Video standard and the mechanical interface to the digital video port. This interface is used for transporting digital video information either in to or out of Silicon Graphics machines. There are currently three implementations of this interface. Two of them are external connections to SGI products - an input only implementation as used by the IndyCam digital camera on the Indy workstation, and an input/output implementation as found on the Gaileo, Indy Video, Indigo^2 video add-in products and the Cosmo Compress Motion JPEG compression card. The third implementation is the internal connection used to connect the Indy Video and Cosmo Compress boards together. This specification covers all three of these variations.
