ProArtisan2

The complete ProArtisan2 manual

3. The Icon Bar Menu

The first menu to deal with is the Icon Bar Menu. You access this by pressing MENU on the mouse whilst the pointer is over the ProArtisan 2 icon on the icon bar.

Show opens a sub menu with a list of the images currently loaded in ProArtisan 2. Click on a name to show the image on the desktop. If there are no images loaded or all images are already displayed this item is greyed out.

The Create Window

This item leads to a window where you can decide the size that a new canvas will be created at. This dialogue can also be invoked by clicking on the ProArtisan 2 icon on the icon bar.

You can select the units that you wish to work in by clicking on the required button on the right of the window. The options are Pixel, Inch or Centimetre.

You can set the size of the canvas either by entering the size into the Width and Height boxes, followed by RETURN, or by selecting one of the presets using the arrows either side of the box containing the word Screen . As you toggle through them you will note that the size of the canvas and the memory required are also shown. The second memory figure shows the amount of free memory available thus enabling you to see if the required size can be created.

Remove opens a sub menu with a list of the images currently loaded in ProArtisan 2. Click on a name to remove the image and free the memory. If there are no images present this item is greyed out.

Remove all will remove all images currently loaded in ProArtisan 2. A warning box tells you if images have not been saved. If there are no images present this item is greyed out.

You can only click on Minimise when no images are loaded. Clicking on it provides you with more memory by removing the Undo facility. The removal of the Undo screen means that some of the Effects and Filters do not work and are greyed out. Some other items work in a slightly different way. We do not advise that you work in this mode except when absolutely necessary. You may for example have a large image that you want to change slightly but do not have enough memory ordinarily. If you have used a Frisket you should try to recover the memory from this first by clicking on Process -> Remove Frisket. A Frisket cannot be used when Minimise is active.

Click on Quit to quit the program. You are prompted if there is any unsaved data.
