LOVE SCIENCE

Fiona says: I wouldn't normally say this because I think we should support the cinema industry, but don't waste your money at your local picture house - wait until this comes out on video. In spite of this lacklustre interpretation of the original Jerry Lewis version, Eddie Murphy comes out of this very well. He plays Sherman Klump, Buddy Love, Lance Perkins, Sherman's mother and father, grandmother and brother (I think). In fact, the only character he doesn't play in the whole film is the female love interest and I wouldn't put it past him to have had a go at that one too.

It's a great shame that the studio obviously felt it unnecessary to spend any great part of the budget on their special effects. Now considering that Sherman is meant to change from a 400lb. man to a 160lb. specimen in the space of seconds and that the whole climax of the film pivots around this point, the morphing is absolutely dire - it was crap! In fact, it was the worst morphing I've seen in ages. The makers of this film should have spent some time studying morphing techniques that were being used years ago in films like Terminator 2.

And why, oh why, oh why, did they have to drag out that old fossil James Coburn again? Can't he get any proper work?

Fiona gives it:yay!yay!duh!duh!duh!
