Ben says: Fierce Creatures, much touted over a period of time that basically spans since the release of A Fish Called Wanda (which, incidentally, was a truly funny film), as a sequel that wasn't, also known as Death Fish 2 is, to be honest, a disappointment. If that last sentence seemed somewhat difficult to interpret I'm sorry, but after Michael Palin's performance as the verbal Diarrhoeic zoo-keeper Bugsy, I'm afraid I've caught the self-same loqacious affliction. Unfortunately, my writings here are about as funny as Bugsy's utterings and probably with the same result - you'll all shout for me to shut up.

The film is the worst seventies pastiche of loud-mouthed Americans, ooh-vicar titillation and poor scripting which has very obviously not benefitted from the numerous well-publicised rewrites. There are very small parts that are genuinely funny and sometimes you find yourself laughing because there isn't anything else to do and it's infinitely preferable to crying. This ain't the next Four Weddings, and no mistake.
