Ben says: This is one of those films that's hard to like, no matter how good you think it should be. We went to see it on spec - it has Michael Caine, Jack Nicholson and Stephen Dorff in it so, theoretically, it should have some promise. However, it is very hard to sympathise with any of the characters - Jack Nichlson's gold-digging wife beater, Michael Caine's emphysematic crook or Stephen Dorff's stupid-beyond-belief sulky teen. It's well shot and the dialogue is good (Michael Caine's coughs have to be heard to believed), but overall you are left feeling nothing for any of the characters.A disappointment and one to avoid, even on tape.
