Welcome to the PKZIP for Windows installation program. This
program will install the Sponsored SHAREWARE version of 
PKZIP 2.60.03 for Windows. 
 
THIS SPONSORED SHAREWARE VERSION INCLUDES SOFTWARE
PROGRAMS FOR THE ADGATEWAY SERVICE FROM CONDUCENT 
TECHNOLOGIES, INC. WHICH IS USED TO RECEIVE AND DISPLAY 
SPONSORED ADVERTISEMENTS WITHIN PKZIP. 
 
To obtain software without any sponsorship, please contact 
PKWARE to purchase a registered version of this software.
 
It is strongly recommended that you exit all Windows 
Programs before proceeding.
 
Click the Cancel button to exit this program and then close
any programs you may have running. Click the Next button to
view and/or specify the installation (e.g. destination 
directory) parameters. When you are finished viewing and/or
specifying the installation parameters, click the Finish 
button to complete the installation process. 
 
NOTE: Depending on the self-extracting file type, certain
installation parameters may not be configurable and as such
will be grayed. 
 
A brief description of the self-extractor's configurable 
parameters, statistics, and buttons follows:
 
 
Extract To:
 
Specify the directory where you wish to extract the 
installation file(s). You may change this directory by 
clicking on a directory in the box that appears below the
Extract To box or manually typing in a destination 
directory path.
 
 
Drives:
 
Specify the drive where you wish to extract the 
installation file(s). 
 
 
Available:
 
Displays the amount of disk space (in kilobytes) available
on the current drive.
 
 
Stored:
 
Displays the amount of space (in kilobytes) needed to 
install PKZIP for Windows installation files. 
 
 
Extracted:
 
Displays the amount of data (in kilobytes) that has been
extracted during the installation process. (This item is
grayed out until you begin the installation process)
 
 
Warnings:
 
Displays the number of warnings encountered during the
installation process. (This item is grayed out until you
begin the installation process)
 
 
Display Messages:
      
Click on this checkbox to display messages for any warnings
that might occur during the installation process. 
Regardless of whether this item is checked, PKSFX will 
always display "error" messages.
 
 
Error Log:
      
Click on this checkbox to create an ASCII text file listing 
errors encountered during the installation process. This 
file is named pkerrlog.txt and is saved in the destination
directory.
 
 
Recreate subdirectories:
      
Click on this checkbox to recreate subdirectories stored 
with the files archived in the self-extractor on 
extraction.
 
Note: When you compress files into a standard or 
self-extracting .ZIP archive, PKZIP allows you to store 
directory path information in addition to the files. You
then have the option of extracting either the files alone
or with their corresponding paths.
 
 
Create program group(s):
 
Click on this checkbox to create a program group for PKZIP
for Windows. If you are installing over an existing version
of PKZIP for Windows, we suggest that you uncheck this 
checkbox to avoid conflicts with your existing 
configuration settings. As an alternative, you may wish to
uninstall the existing version of PKZIP for Windows before
installing the newer version of PKZIP for Windows. 
 
 
Register extensions:
 
Click on this checkbox to register the specified extension.
If you are installing over an existing version of PKZIP 
for Windows we suggest that you uncheck this checkbox to 
avoid conflicts with your existing configuration settings.
As an alternative, you may wish to uninstall the existing
version of PKZIP for Windows before installing the newer 
version of PKZIP for Windows.  
 
 
Run after extraction:
 
Click on this checkbox to execute the specified program 
after extraction. 
 
 
Overwrite:
 
This combo box allows you to specify overwrite parameters. 
 
 
Cancel Button:
 
Click on this button to cancel the installation process.
 
 
About Button:
 
Click on this button to display self-extractor version and
license information.
 
 
Auto-Detect Button:
 
Click on this button to initiate destination directory 
auto-detection. 
 
 
Back Button:
 
Click on this button to return to the previous window.
 
 
Next Button:
 
Click on this button to manually configure the 
extraction/installation parameters.
 
 
Test Button:
 
Click on this button to verify the integrity of the files
contained in the self-extracting file before extracting 
them.
 
 
Finish Button:
 
Click on this button to proceed with the installation 
process.
 
NOTE: Depending on the self-extracting file type, some of
the previously described buttons may not appear on the 
self-extractor dialog.
