I have mastered some of the more simple programming languages (LOGO, GW BASIC, Q-BASIC and Batch programming), and I am interested in taking a few more steps, and trying to create a Myst-style game. I wrote a letter to Computer Life asking them for help, and they suggested that I buy Visual Basic for $99. Their first mistake was giving me the wrong phone number to contact Microsoft. So, I finally reached Microsoft, and Visual Basic 4.0 isn't coming out for another couple of months, and it will cost more than $99.

Could you help us? It seems to me that making a game would be a lot like making a CD Mag. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
