- TREE&FOX: Preliminary program notes
-
- N.B. For detailed documentation see TREE&FOX.DOC.
-
- Welcome, and thank you for your interest. Please note that all the
- programs included are exploratory prototypes, and that the author
- makes no warranties of any kind as to their robustness or suitability
- for any application.
-
-
- A. TREES.ICN
- 1. Translate and run as usual; the program should work with
- most versions of ICON.
- 2. Input is expected from a text file called TREES.IN. A
- sample file has been provided.
- 3. Note that TREES calls for a non-proportional font and
- relies on the pseudographics characters of the extended
- IBM-ASCII set.
-
- B. TREECAD.ICN
- 1. This program is heavily dependent on DOS calls and video
- routines. It runs under ordinary (non-386) DOS ICON from
- version 8.0.
- 2. TREECAD makes nonessential use of SCROLLER.EXE which expects a
- text file called TREECAD.IN.
- 3. For a Windows installation of TREECAD see TREE&FOX.DOC, para 2.4.
-
- C. FOX.ICN
- 1. FOX makes a few DOS calls so that it, too, must be run from
- an ordinary (non-386) DOS version of ICON. (The routines
- involved are largely nonessential so that porting to a different
- environment should be feasible.)
- 2. FOX expects the lexicon file FOX-LEX to reside in the
- current directory.
- 3. FOX makes nonessential use of SCROLLER.EXE which expects a
- text file called FOX.IN.
- 4. For a Windows installation of FOX see TREE&FOX.DOC, para 3.2.
