- DSP Group Notes:
-
- The enclosed disks contain most of the software available to the
- DSP group. Tom Clark pulled everything except disk DSP-0 off
- TOMCAT and sent the disks to Andy Freeborn, N0CCZ. Andy and I
- have made copies of the 13 disks and sent a set to each of the
- members of the DSP group who received a Delanco-Spry board (that
- we have address information on). Additional sets may be
- available to others later.
-
- I will be maintaining copies of the disks as they currently exist
- and will send new ones out with new and/or updated code as it
- becomes available. If you have corrections or additions be sure
- to send a copy to the original author, a copy to me, and also
- try to get it onto TOMCAT. I will try to collect enough to make
- up a new disk at least once per quarter and send it along with an
- updated DSP-0 disk.
-
- So far there has not been a lot of COMMUNICATION. The little I
- have seen has been on CompuServe in the HamNET section 17. I'll
- try to collect and summarize the information that is available
- there onto each new DSP-0 disk. If anyone else collects general
- interest info on DSP, please pass it along and we'll add it to
- the collection.
-
- Courtney Duncan, N5BF, told me that the schematics for the
- Delanco-Spry board should be in the mail real soon now (may even
- beat this to your mailbox).
-
- Here is a brief description of the contents of each disk:
-
- DSP-0
-
- o An index to the contents of the other disks. TYPE or LIST
- the DSP-#.TXT file to get a directory of the files on the
- disk and the files in the arc files.
- o README.DOC - Information on the new version of PKARC
- [PK36.EXE] on disk DSP-6.
-
- The following items will change with each issue of DSP-0.
-
- o LIST - a file listing program. Both EXE and ARC formats.
- o DSP0726.NOT - This set of notes.
- o CISDSP.ARC - CIS HamNet Sec 17 items of general interest.
-
- DSP-1
-
- o ARC files of the TI software library.
- o TOMCAT.INF - Information on getting in to TOMCAT ( TOM C's
- AT).
- o BEL202.ASM - a BELL202 modem by N4HY.
-
- DSP-2
-
- o MAC320.ARC - TMS320 Macro Assembler files.
- o FIR.ARC - FIR filter design program.
- o BIN.ARC - EXE files for Delanco board.
-
-
-
-
-
-
- DSP-3
-
- o Arc files of various utilities for the Delanco-Spry board,
- early notes on the DSP project, and a TMS32010 emulator.
-
- DSP-4
-
- o C56K.ARC - c compiler, assembler, and linker for DSP56000
- o WEFAX.ARC - N4HY's Wefax demod and display - EGA only
-
- DSP-5
-
- o W5SXD's FFT program.
- o WD0FHG's o'scope program.
- NOTE: There is a bug in this version. You have to go in to
- the assemble routine (F6) twice. The first time the file
- name is blanked. Just hit return until you get back to the
- main display and try F6 again. I haven't worked on this in a
- while but I use it a lot to see what filters are doing.
-
- DSP-6
-
- o PK36.exe - self extracting archive of the latest version of
- PKARC.
- o NKFSA97.arc - really nice spectrum analyzer
- o SOUND.arc - Phil's digital audio - is this what he wants to
- use tcp/ip for?
- o Other utilities and sound archives.
-
- DSP-7
-
- o SOUNDS1.ARC - Archive of sounds for digital audio.
-
- DSP-8
-
- o SOUNDS2.ARC - Archive of sounds for digital audio.
-
- DSP-9
-
- o SOUNDS3.ARC - Archive of sounds for digital audio.
-
- DSP-10
-
- o SOUNDS4.ARC - Archive of sounds for digital audio.
-
- DSP-11
-
- o M56000_1.ARC - New version of DSP56000 stuff with samples.
- o PIII.ASM - Phase III PSK demodulator from N4HY. Haven't had
- a chance to try it out yet.
-
- DSP-12
-
- o M56000_2.ARC - DSP56000 simulator with samples.
- o NEWSPECT.ARC - Update of spect1k.asm.
- o NEWWEFAX.ARC - Update of WEFAX program.
-
- Ok, now where are some of your goodies??? What are you doing
- with your board? Let us know.

-
- I have a working design, in wire wrap, for a TMS32010/E15 board.
- It uses a TCM2916 CODEC for analog I/O, and has 24 bits of
- digital I/O. Memory for the C10s is either CY7C291(2k x 8) or
- CY7C261(8k x 8) high speed EPROMS from Cypress (about $8 for the
- 291s and $20 for the 261s), or the equivalent bipolar PROMS.
- Using the 261s and a TMS320E15 the thing could have 3 separate
- programs in a standalone box. I'll probably do a PC board early
- next month. Cost of parts is about $150 with 261s and an
- E15(last ones cost me $56, C10s are under $20).
-
- What can we do with it? Is anybody even interested? Biggest
- problem with E15 and the EPROMS is burning them. Someone want to
- come up with an adapter for burning the E15 ( TI gets $75 for
- one)? This board and an adapter could allow folks with fewer
- bucks to play. (Sounds like an article for QST, HR or some such.)
-
- The next issue of the DSP-0 disk will be sent on about Oct 1.
- May even be hand delivered at the Digital Conference. Whether or
- not there will be a DSP-13 depends on the members of the group.
- IF YOU HAVE SOME THING TELL US ABOUT IT!!!!!
