  1. King's Quest VII Patch
  2.  
  3. This patch is for versions 1.4 and 1.51 of King's Quest VII.  Check the
  4. version of King's Quest VII before applying this patch.  In DOS move to 
  5. the DOS prompt for the CD ROM drive, usually D:\, and type: TYPE VERSION 
  6. [enter].  If you have version 1.1, please contact Customer Service at
  7. 1 800 743-7725 and ask for the update to version 1.5
  8.  
  9. The patch must be installed to the same directory as King's Quest VII. 
  10. Copy all of files to your King's Quest VII game directory.  For example, if 
  11. you installed the game into your C: drive in a directory called C:\SIERRA\KQ7
  12. and the files are on a disk in your A: drive, you would type the following:
  13.  
  14. C: [ENTER]
  15. CD \SIERRA\KQ7 [ENTER]
  16. COPY A:*.* [ENTER]
  17.  
  18. Once the patch has been copied to the game directory on your hard drive, 
  19. simply start King's Quest VII as you normally would and enjoy the game!
  20.  
  21. NOTE:  The patch is compatible with most saved games.  If you encounter a 
  22. lock up after trying to restore a pre-patched saved game, you will not be 
  23. able to use that saved game and should start a new game.

  25. WHAT THIS PATCH ADDRESSES
  26. The following issues are addressed by this patch.  
  27.  
  28. * Possible lockups when Rosella is walking through the were-forest.
  29.  
  30. * Situations where the scene with the mockingbird in the nest repeats or 
  31. locks up when trying to get the wooden nickel.
  32.  
  33. * Instances when the spider web/hummingbird scene repeating after having been 
  34. completed.
  35.  
  36. * Lockups in scenes where Valanice has to interact with the Headless Horseman.
  37.  
  38. * When trying to use the wooden nickel in the faux shop the nickel won't 
  39. highlight.
  40.  
  41. * Lockups in scenes where Valanice or Rosella interacts with the bogeyman.
  42.  
  43. * Lockups in Malicia's house.

  50. type: KQ7MEM [enter].
