  1. EZsetup.txt    Reference file for EZsetup utility
  2.

  5.    This setup program allows you to select start-up options that will
  6. be used by EZhelp at runtime. A file will be created by the name of
  7. EZhelp.dat, and it can be placed in a subdirectory with whichever
  8. reference file is to be used with EZhelp. This is Setup 1, which
  9. controls the colors and style of the help menu and reference window.
  10.  
  11.    To select an option, press Tab and move the »» color selector.
  12.    To change the color or style of the option, use the arrow keys.
  13.    To move to Setup 2, press F5. To save the options, press F10.
  14.    To exit, press escape.

  16. You can use the reference displayed
  17. here as a preview of each change you
  18. make to colors or options. Just
  19. save the options by pressing F10,
  20. then press F1 to see how the changes
  21. look with EZhelp running.

  24. The title color will be used for the menu names, and the name of
  25. the help reference window (the last menu topic selected).

  27. The window color will cover the un-hilited topics in each window,
  28. and the help text color displayed in the reference windows.

  30. The hilite color appears on the moving selection bar on the
  31. menu topics.

  33. You may select a color for the first letter of each topic in
  34. a menu.

  36. The border color will be used for both the topic menu and the
  37. help reference window.

  40. There are four border styles available:  │ 1 │  │ 2 │  ║ 3 ║  ║ 4 ║

  43. When a letter key is pressed, the hilite bar will move to the next
  44. topic matching that letter, when possible. If Auto selection is ON,
  45. the return key need not be pressed for selection.

  47. If Window sizing is ON, EZhelp will make the help reference window
  48. as narrow as possible for the text to be displayed. With Window
  49. sizing OFF, the window will always be 80 columns.

  51. If Page numbers is ON, and there is more help text than can fit on
  52. screen, a page count will display on the lower left of the window
  53. in the format "n of n".
  54. {{ Display errors, 2,  4,  0 }}
  55. If display errors is ON, EZhelp will display an error on screen
  56. before returning to the calling program with the error code. This
  57. feature is useful when a help reference is initially developed.
  58. {{ Overlap windows,    2,  5,  0 }}
  59. If Overlap windows is ON, the original screen will not be restored
  60. after each window display. This will allow window displays to
  61. overlap on the screen.
  62. {{ PgUp string,    2,  6,  0 }}
  63. This string (or symbol) will display when there is more text to
  64. display ABOVE the text in the window. You can insert special
  65. symbols such as  or , by holding down the Alt key and
  66. pressing the corresponding ASCII code for the symbol. Here are
  67. the ASCII codes for the example symbols:

  71. This string (or symbol) will display when there is more text to
  72. display BELOW the text in the window. You can insert special
  73. symbols such as  or , by holding down the Alt key and
  74. pressing the corresponding ASCII code for the symbol. Here are
  75. the ASCII codes for the example symbols:

  79. EZhelp returns to the calling program when escape is pressed.
  80. The Exit string will display in the upper left hand of the help
  81. reference window. Enter blanks if you want no display.

  84. The help anchor positions the reference
  85.   window on the screen. The window is
  86.   divided into nine sections like so:
