  14.  Before you read this short file we would like to ask a favor.
  15.  Please UPLOAD THIS ZIP to your favorite BBS. There are many users
  16.  that have the older 2.X version of Zip Manager. We would be most
  17.  grateful if you could pass this one along. Please leave a comment
  18.  to the sysop to remove any previous version of Zip Manager he may
  19.  have on his board.
  20.  
  21.  Please Note:
  22.  There is a remote possibility that Zip Manager may not run on your computer.
  23.  This has happend in rare cases with a variety of different computers.
  24.  If this should occur try the following:
  25.  1.) Place Zip Manager in its own sub directory off of the root.
  26.  2.) DO NOT include this directory in your path statement.
  27.  3.) Make sure that the directory in which you keep the PKZIP files
  28.      IS in your path.
  29.  4.) DO NOT place the PKZIP files in the same directory as Zip Manager.
  30.  5.) If Windows gives you a PIF Error message, try deleting the ZMSCAN.PIF
  31.      On a very few 386 computers Windows can't seem to run Zip Manager in a
  32.      window.

  34.  If you are still having problems, you can DL a file called ZM30W.ZIP from our
  35.  BBS. This version of Zip Manager will function on your computer.

  37.  These problems are due to the bugs in the windows shell. In version 3.1 of
  38.  Windows these problems will be taken care of.

  47.  Version 3.01
  48.  As promised version 3.01 of Zip Manager will now function properly
  49.  on computers with the bios compatibility problem that version 3.0
  50.  detected. In addition the read only problem on Banyan LAN'S was fixed.
  51.  The Switches menu now allows you to specify whether or not you want
  52.  PKUNZIP to overwrite existing files if it detects them on disk. The default
  53.  is to NOT overwrite.

  55.  We are developing a separate program called WinDoctor that will examine your
  56.  current hardware and report any incompatibilities found. In addition it
  57.  will check your ram to verify that every chip is in proper working condition.
  58.  It will also check your video card and video memory for any incompatibilities.
  59.  WinDoctor should be available around the first of December 1990. You are
  60.  welcome to call the BBS nearer the release date for further information.

  64.  discovering that the way in which Zip Manager executes its DOS programs
  65.  gave it the uncanny ability to locate and identify bios chips that were
  66.  not fully compatible with windows.

  94.  Before you tear off and start Zipping and UnZipping the daylights out of your
  95.  files. It is IMPERATIVE that if you were using version 2.X of Zip Manager
  96.  that you read the Installation portion on the documentation. Failure to do
  97.  so could and most likely WILL cause you to have a problem trying to
  98.  run Zip Manager 3.01  It is a completely new program that has nothing in
  99.  common with the previous version. You should also read the update.doc file
  100.  for important information specific to version 3.01 of Zip Manager.

  102.  ----------------------> Printing The Documentation <------------------------

  104.  All of the documentation including this file, is formatted to print correctly
  105.  on a Dot Matrix or HP LaserJet(or Compatible Printer). Included is a program
  106.  called prndocs.com It will print all of the documentation including this
  107.  file. If your prefer to use the program before reading the documentation, at
  108.  least be sure to read the update.doc file.

  112.  the users who were both kind in their criticisms of version 2.X, and offered
  113.  many of the wish list items that made it into version 3.01.
