W_RODENT INSTRUCTIONS
The W_Rodent is being distributed in the shareware market, you are free to
make copies to pass along to others who might find the W_Rodent useful as
long as all files (W_Rodent.exe, Rodent.exe, Invoice.txt and W_Rodent.doc)
are distributed together.
If you find that you like the W_Rodent and find it useful in your work, you
are expected to purchase a registered copy for $15.00. An invoice named
INVOICE.TXT is included for your convenience. Checks, Mastercard and Visa
are accepted for payment. Open the Invoice.txt file with Notepad, select
File menu, Page Setup command and set all margins to 0. Then select File
menu, Print command to print the invoice.
When your registration fee is received a registered copy of the W_Rodent,
a registration number and a paid in full invoice will be sent to you.
Technical support and site licenses are also available, please call
509-476-2216 for more information.
The purpose of the W_Rodent is to enable the right mouse button to act like
the enter key of the keyboard. With the W_Rodent, which stands for
Windows Rodent, working with dialog boxes is very fast. Most dialog boxes
have a default button and if you press the Enter key of the keyboard that
button is activated. With the W_Rodent you can press the right mouse button
instead of moving the mouse to press the default button or taking your hand
off the mouse to press the Enter key of the keyboard.
The W_Rodent will work with all Windows applications. If an application
uses a key+Enter key combination you can press the right mouse button for
the Enter key. By keeping your hand on the mouse you can save a lot time
as you do your work.
W_Rodent.exe uses another program (included with W_Rodent) called
Rodent.exe. The Rodent.exe is a DLL or Dynamic Linked Library.
The Rodent.exe has been marketed separately in the past as an Excel add in.
If you have purchased the Rodent for Excel, you must replace all old copies
of the Rodent.exe with the new version of Rodent.exe from the W_Rodent disk.
Excel will work with the new Rodent.exe the smae as it did with the old
Rodent.exe. The Excel version of the Rodent and W_Rodent may be run separ-
ately or at the same time. They will share the new Rodent.exe file.
To install the W_Rodent, copy all of the files from the your W_Rodent
floppy to the directory where you want the W_Rodent to be. Then use the
File Manager or Program Manager to start W_Rodent.
To run the W_Rodent double click on its icon in the Program Manager or the
W_Rodent.exe file in the File Manager. Another W_Rodent icon will appear
at the botton of your screen. At this point the W_Rodent program is run-
ning and the right mouse button clicks are being captured and turned into
Enter keys.
If you have an application that uses the right mouse button, you can UN-
CAPTURE the right mouse button by single left clicking on the W_Rodent icon
at the bottom of the screen, then select the RODENT OFF command from the
system menu. Notice that the icon at the bottom of the screen has changed
to a W_Rodent icon without bars. You can turn the W_Rodent on and off as
much as needed. A shortcut for selecting the RODENT ON and RODENT OFF
commands is to double click on the icon at the bottom of the screen.
