  2.                        Whats's new in version 1.40?
  3.  
  4. If you are new to Paint Shop or where using a version prior to version 1.31
  5. then just start playing. Use the built in Help system for information about
  6. using Paint Shop and the file formats that are supported.
  7.  
  8. If you have been using version 1.31 of Paint Shop then this is for you.
  9. This file is a description of what has changed since the last release.
  10. This file is part of Paint Shop starting with version 1.40.
  11.  
  12. From ver 1.31 to ver 1.40
  13.  
  14. BUGS is Paint Shop version 1.31.
  15. All reported bugs have been fixed. If you where having a problem with a prior
  16. version of Paint Shop, then try it again with this version.
  17. If the bug still exists then you will have to let me know. I have fixed all
  18. bugs that I was made aware of.

  21. ENHANCEMENTS:
  22. The following is a list of items that have been added to Paint Shop.
  23.  
  24. File Formats:
  25.     PCX - Version 1.40 will now read all versions of the PCX file format.
  26.           When saving as a PCX, Paint Shop will save as the earliest version
  27.           possible. See the Help topic "File Formats - PCX" for a complete
  28.           description of which version PCX file format Paint Shop will save
  29.           the file as.
  30.  
  31.     BMP - RLE4 encoding has been added.
  32.           When saving a picture as a BMP with RLE encoding Paint Shop will
  33.           determine which RLE (RLE4 or RLE8) encoding to use.
  34.           See the Help topic "File Formats - BMP" for a complete description
  35.           of which version RLE file format Paint Shop will save the file as.

  37.     RLE - RLE4 encoding has been added.
  38.           When saving a picture as a RLE file, Paint Shop will determine the
  39.           correct RLE encoding to use.

  43. File-Print:
  44.     Paint Shop no longer stretches your picture to take up the entire page.
  45.     It now prints the picture exactly as it is. Printing pictures has been
  46.     added to the help system for information on printing. See the Help topic
  47.     File-Print for information on how printing is handled.
  48.  
  49. File-Printer Setup:
  50.     Now takes you right to the default printer setup screen. The default
  51.     printer is whichever one you have selected as the active printer from
  52.     the Windows Control Panel.

  54. Screen Capturing:
  55.     Paint Shop will now support screen capturing, indirectly. See the Help
  56.     Topic "Screen Capturing" for more information.

  58. Alter-Invert:
  59.     Now allows the inverting of a black and white picture. See the Help Topic
  60.     "Alter-Invert" for a complete description of what the menu option does.

  62. Alter-Prep for MAC
  63.     Now allows for the inverting of the picture during the prep. See both
  64.     Help Topics "Alter-Prep for MAC" and "Alter-Invert" for a complete
  65.     understanding of this new feature.
