HINTS AND TIPS ON CROSSTALK COMMUNICATOR, Mk4 & WINDOWS XTALK:
These are some Utility scripts and Log-on scripts for
some of the local BBS in the KC area. These are examples of some
of my scripts for running and logging on to BBS. There is also
one for logging on to XTALK BBS the Crosstalk BBS in Atlanta GA.
Make sure these are placed in the same DIR as Crosstalk.
USING THE LOG-ON SCRIPTS:
The only thing you will have to change is the in the
SETUP (ALT-S) for that entry in the Dialing Dir.
USERID: Your Name.
SCRIPT: Name of script to run.
PASSWORD: Your Password.
ADDING TO THE UTILITIES MENU:
To add to the Utilities Menu. "Make sure that the CODE-
SAVE: switch is set to ON (ALT-Y) to set this up" Go to the
Utilities menu (ALT-M) and run the Script (DOSMENU) go to the
Entry called (Do - Do a Crosstalk script) hit Enter and find the
Utilities script you want to Do
Note that to Do a script compiles it. from the .XTS extension to
the .XTC one.)
Then go back to the Utilities Menu (ALT-M). and add the
script to the menu. by using the (Ins) key, and picking out the
Utilities to Add.
As you can see, you can add just about any script to run just
about any program. This also means you can add external Proto-
cols.
ALSO INCLUDED AUTOMATIC Q-MAIL DOWNLOAD:
Follow the same Procedure as Using the log-on scripts.
The only thing that may have to be changed is the Receive command
may have to be change to include the filename if using a differ-
ent Protocol then Zmodem.
To automate the download from with in Q-mail Deluxe
reader, you will have to create the following DIALER.BAT file.
ECHO OFF
CD\CCM : or XTALK for Mk4
CCM CALL Q-MAIL : This is the Entry to Dial.
CD\DELUXE : Back to Deluxe.
This will also work with Mk4 and probably Xtalk for Windows since
windows Xtalk uses the same script Language.
HINTS ON THE KEY ASSIGNMENTS:
While playing with the function keys one night, I discov-
ered that by Adding the @RUN "Qedit.exe" to one of the keys that
it would run that program.
If anyone needs any help with any of these
scripts our Crosstalk Communicator. Leave a Message for me
(Andrew Clem) on Sound Advice. Our on ILink-NANet-HLink-FIDO.
