  10.           Thanks for  trying Simply  Labels.   We think  you'll find Simply
  11.           Labels to be a very flexible and easy to use label program.

  13.           To start the program, from the DOS prompt type

  17.           and press ENTER.  You can also automatically load a file when you
  18.           start by  including the  complete name of the file on the command
  19.           line, like this:

  23.           You may want to  configure  the  program  for  colors  or printer
  24.           settings and  this may  be done  by selecting  Configure from the
  25.           main menu.   There  are  several  sample  files  included  on the
  26.           program disk  for you  to try.  These files will give you an idea
  27.           of some of the capabilites of the program.

  29.           The documentation is included  on  disk  and  may  be  printed by
  30.           typing  PRINT.  This is a batch file that will copy the doc files
  31.           to your printer.   The documentation  is over  70 pages,  so make
  32.           sure you  have enough  paper.  New features found in this version
  33.           are outlined in the file called CHANGES.TXT

  37.           ABOUT SHAREWARE

  39.           Simply Labels  is  being  distributed  under  a  unique marketing
  40.           method  known   as  Shareware.    The  Association  of  Shareware
  41.           professionals (ASP) offers the following definition of Shareware:

  44.                Shareware  distribution  gives  users  a  chance to try
  45.                software before buying it.    If  you  try  a Shareware
  46.                program  and  continue  using  it,  you are expected to
  47.                register.   Individual programs  differ on  details  --
  48.                some  request  registration  while  others  require it,
  49.                some specify a maximum trial period. With registration,
  50.                you  get  anything  from  the  simple right to continue
  51.                using the software to  an updated  program with printed
  52.                manual.

  54.                Copyright laws  apply to  both Shareware and commercial
  55.                software, and the copyright holder retains  all rights,
  56.                with  a  few    specific    exceptions as stated below.
  57.                Shareware authors  are  accomplished  programmers, just
  58.                like  commercial  authors,  and  the  programs  are  of
  59.                comparable quality.  (In  both  cases,  there  are good
  60.                programs and  bad ones!)  The main difference is in the

  66.                method of distribution.  The author specifically grants
  67.                the right  to copy  and distribute the software, either
  68.                to all and sundry or to a specific group.  For example,
  69.                some  authors   require  written  permission  before  a
  70.                commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  72.                So, Shareware is a distribution method,  not a  type of
  73.                software.    You  should  find software that suits your
  74.                needs  and  pocketbook,  whether   it's  commercial  or
  75.                Shareware.    The  Shareware  system makes fitting your
  76.                needs easier, because you can try  before you  buy. And
  77.                because  the  overhead  is  low,  prices  are low also.

  79.                you don't use the product, you don't pay for it.

  81.           Registration grants  a license for continued use of Simply Labels
  82.           Version III.  Any and all unregistered use  after a  trial period
  83.           of  3  weeks  is  a  violation  of  our  license agreement and is
  84.           forbidden.  Single user registration is available for  $25.00 per
  85.           copy.  Registration details are included in the manual.
