  5.     A collection of useful utilities for your printer that we feel you
  6. shouldn't be without. X-PRINT is a memory-resident printer utility for
  7. Epson and compatible printers. It lets you change the printing style to
  8. pica, elite, compressed or near letter quality, and change the lines per
  9. page to 66, 51 or 33. Once loaded, X-PRINT stays in memory and can be
  10. activated at any time by pressing a certain key, even if you are in the
  11. middle of executing a program.

  13.     LINES takes any ASCII text file, and converts certain selected
  14. characters into line drawing characters. These line drawing characters are
  15. part of the IBM extended character set which can be used to make very
  16. professional-looking forms and charts right on the screen or the printer.
  17. However, many wordprocessors cannot display these characters, and even in
  18. the ones that do, the process of looking up which of the 38 characters to
  19. use for line intersections and entering these characters using the Alt key
  20. quickly becomes a chore. But with this program, using any wordprocessor or
  21. editor, you can simply include special marks of where you want horizontal
  22. or vertical lines and intersections. LINES scans the ASCII file and
  23. intelligently converts the marks to the line drawing characters in a few
  24. seconds. Good for making forms, charts, and boxes on your screen or
  25. printer.

  27.     DISK LABLER makes disk labels using one of three different sizes of
  28. labels: 1" x 3", 1" x 3.5", and 2.75" x 2.75" It lets you enter the title
  29. for the disk, the program version, the disk number, whether or not it is a
  30. master or back-up copy, whether or not the program is public domain, the
  31. program category, and a one-line comment. The program is very easy to use
  32. and the menu is self-explanatory. This program requires color graphics.

  34.     SETIT is a menu-driven BASIC program that sets up an Epson FX series or
  35. compatible printer. No longer will you have to change the printer's dip
  36. switches or use BASIC to set-up your printer. It can set the printing style
  37. to Near Letter Quality (NLQ), draft, proportional, condensed, double-wide,
  38. double-high, emphasized, double strike, superscript, subscript and
  39. underline. You can also select which character set to be used: either the
  40. Epson character graphics, italics, or one of the international character
  41. sets. Besides printing style, SETIT can also control printer operations
  42. such as the paper-out sensor, auto-sheet feed mode, full or half speed, and
  43. form feed. SETIT can also set up the margins, the inch-line spacing,
  44. intercharacter space, and NLQ justification.

  46.     GIFTWRAP provides a new style for giftwrapping your presents. Just
  47. enter a short and personal message and the program prints it out in the
  48. format you specify. The words appear either as slanted stripes or as
  49. zigzags on the paper. You can print either by page or line, and you can
  50. specify the number of lines or pages that are going to be printed.
  51. Pagelength, line width, and perforation skip can be specified from the menu
  52. of this program. Instead of sending the information to the printer, the
  53. giftwrap design can be sent instead to the screen or to a file on a disk.
  54. Many people have expressed satisfaction with this new kind of giftwrap,
  55. which gives a surprise on both sides of the box.

  59. System Requirements: 128K memory, one floppy disk drive, and an IBM or
  60. EPSON compatible printer (DISK LABELER requires color graphics).

  62. How to Start: Type X-PRINT (press enter) for X-PRINT, LINES (press enter)
  63. for LINES, PGLABEL (press enter) for DISK LABELER, and GIFTWRAP (press
  64. enter) for GIFTWRAP. In order to run SETIT you must first load BASIC then
  65. load the file SETIT.BAS.
