  13.     This update now allows the display and deletion of individual
  14.     records, along with several stability enhancements.
  15.  
  16. VERSION 1.05 UPDATE
  17. -------------------
  18.     This update provides support for User Passwords, thus allowing
  19.     you to restrict certain individual's access to certain areas
  20.     of the system.
  21.  
  22.     A seperate document is now on the diskette which details how
  23.     to set up and maintain passwords.  This document is named
  24.     SECURITY.DOC, I suggest you print out a copy and delete it
  25.     from your diskette (or store your diskette where it is not
  26.     generally available).

  28.     NOTE: If you are upgrading from a level prior to 1.04, please
  29.     read the announcement on version 1.04 and run the UP104
  30.     program!
  31.  
  32.     NOTE: Some sites have reported problems with printing!  These
  33.     have been resolved by increasing the number of FILES in the
  34.     CONFIG.SYS system file.  If you are having problems with printing
  35.     please set the FILES parameter to 20 or more (see your MS-DOS
  36.     manual for more information on the CONFIG.SYS FILE).

  38. VERSION 1.04 UPDATE
  39. -------------------
  40.  
  41.     This update has been issued to provide for the extended ZIP
  42.     Code numbering system used in the United States and also the
  43.     Postal Code system as used in Canada.
  44.  
  45.     If you are currently using an older level of Heritage Church
  46.     (i.e. version 1.03A or prior) then YOU MUST RUN A CONVERSION
  47.     PROGRAM included on your distribution disk named: UP104.  This
  48.     need only be run once (and should only be run once)!  This will
  49.     expand the Family Record to accomodate this new field.
  50.  
  51.     The procedure for running this is as follows:
  52.  
  53.         1. Back Up Your Data Files (just in case)
  54.            Particularly the file FAMILY.DAT
  55.  
  56.         2. Change to the directory which contains your HERITAGE
  57.            CHURCH data files (e.g.: ChDir \HCS).
  58.  
  59.         3. Insert the Version 1.04 Distribution diskette into your
  60.            floppy drive.
  61.  
  62.         4. Copy the program UP104.EXE onto your disk via the
  63.            following command:
  64.  
  65.            COPY A:UP104.EXE
  66.  
  67.         5. Start the program by keying in:
  68.  
  69.            UP104
  70.  
  71.         6. The program will then update your files.
  72.  
  73.         7. When this is done, copy your new version of Heritage
  74.            Church onto your disk via:
  75.  
  76.            COPY A:HCS.EXE
  77.  
  78.         8. That's all, you are now ready to run the new version.
  79.  
  80.      Also, due to the amount of Data now on the release diskette
  81.      we have been forced to COMPRESS the document file (HCS.DOC).
  82.      It is now in the file HCS.XZ and can be decompressed with
  83.      the COMPRESS utility found on the release diskette.  To
  84.      do this, simply perform the following steps.
  85.  
  86.         1. Place the distribution diskette into Drive A:
  87.  
  88.         1. Change to the directory where you want the documentation
  89.            to reside (e.g. ChDir \HCS)
  90.  
  91.         2. Copy the COMPRESS and Documentation files onto your disk
  92.            via the following commands:
  93.  
  94.            COPY A:COMPRESS.EXE
  95.            COPY A:HCS.XZ
  96.  
  97.         3. Run the COMPRESS utility by entering the following:
  98.  
  99.            COMPRESS -d HCS.XZ
  100.  
  101.         4. This will create the file HCS.DOC.

  104. VERSION 1.03A UPDATE
  105. --------------------
  106.  
  107.     This update is for the purpose of correcting two problems with
  108.     version 1.03:
  109.  
  110.     1. There is a problem with purging old transaction records.  Please
  111.        read the enclose document: DBFIX.DOC for information on this
  112.        problem.
  113.  
  114.     2. There was a problem in the listing of families from the giving
  115.        screen.
  116.  
  117.     Both of these problems have been corrected.  Please read the file
  118.     DBFIX.DOC to discern whether you need to run the DBFIX document.

  121. VERSION 1.03 UPDATE
  122. -------------------
  123.  
  124.     Modifications have been made to Heritage Church in the following
  125.     areas:
  126.  
  127.         1) Multiple choice for printer selection.
  128.  
  129.         2) Export option from giving menu for exporting data to
  130.            Lotus 1-2-3 (r) or compatable spreadsheet.
  131.  
  132.         3) Numerous "bugs" fixed.
  133.  
  134.         4) Enhanced printer status checking.
  135.  
  136.         5) Many new and improved reports.
  137.  
  138.     In order to release this version to you in the quickest order, we
  139.     have not updated the manual reflecting these changes, they will
  140.     be fully documented in our next revision which will be made available
  141.     during the second quarter of 1988.
  142.  
  143.     In order to use the EXPORT interface, simply select this option from
  144.     the GIVING menu and specify a file name.  You may then go into LOTUS,
  145.     VP-PLANNER, or TWIN and use the IMPORT function (as NUMERIC data) to
  146.     read the output.
  147.  
  148.     For the sake of those who do not have an automatic clock in their
  149.     PC, and since HCS is so dependent upon the date in the machine,
  150.     HCS now prompts you for the date each time it is initiated.  If
  151.     you have a clock card and do not want to be queried for the date,
  152.     then insert the following statement into your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

  185.     Before going any further, you should print this document and
  186.     read it since it provides valuable information on
  187.     preparing your system.

  189.     To print this document, simply insert the Heritage Church
  190.     distribution diskette in drive A: and key in:

  194. SHAREWARE SUPPORT

  197.     This program has been released into the public market via the
  198.     SHAREWARE distribution concept.  Please see the manual for a
