  1. FONTEDIT will run from a floppy drive, but it is best to run it from a
  2. hard disk in order to allow room for temporary files and for the font
  3. file to grow.

  5. To begin FONTEDIT demo version, simply type:
  6.  
  7.                         fedem12 [filename]
  8.  
  9. where the optional parameter [filename] is the font file to view and edit.
  10. Wildcards are OK.

  12. With some VGA cards, text in VGA mode will be blue, which may be difficult
  13. to read. If this is the case, EGA or CGA modes can be forced by starting
  14. FONTEDIT as:
  15.  
  16.                 fedem12 [filename] /ega
  17.          or     fedem12 [filename] /cga
  18.  
  19. A sample font file called "handwrit.sft" is included, and two sample
  20. TIFF files "sample1.tif" & "sample2.tif" are included for demonstrating
  21. the Import TIFF feature of FONTEDIT.

  23. The file "femanual.com" is a compressed, self-extracting version of the
  24. full FONTEDIT user's manual. To extract it, simply type "femanual", and
  25. it will create the file "femanual.txt".

  30. If using the DOS access feature, make sure your PATH includes the subdirectory
  31. containing FONTEDIT.
