  96. GETTING STARTED
  97. ---------------
  98. The information provided below is to help you start the program for
  99. your hardware configuration.  For more details about the operation of
  100. the program press the F1 (function) key once you have started the
  101. program. (Make sure you have run the Self-Extracting Utility File first).
  102.  
  103. Before you start using the program, we suggest that you make a working
  104. disk/directory.  The SETUP.BAT file, provided on this diskette, should 
  105. make the task easy.  Log on to the drive/directory containing the DRAFT
  106. CHOICE files, type setup and press ENTER for instructions:

  109. DRAFT CHOICE is started from DOS using the command:
  110.  
  111.   A>  DRAFTC /Option1/Option2/Option3/.....     [ENTER]

  113.         Available Command Line Options
  114.         ------------------------------
  115.     /H     - Enables graphics for Hercules
  116.     /E     - Enables graphics for EGA
  117.     /ATT   - Enables ATT display graphics
  118.     /EV    - Enables VGA (640x480) Graphics
  119.     /Q     - Quick screen updating for CGA
  120.     /V1    - Force CGA mode on VGA monitor
  121.     /NT    - No Keyboard Turbo (Eliminates conflicts with some programs 
  122.              that directly manipulate the keyboard registers)
  123.     /MONO  - Used with monitors that do not display shades properly
  124.     /NE    - Do not use Expanded memory even if it is detected
  125.     /VM=NN - Use the disk drive to emulate EMS RAM. NN=number of 16K pages
  126.     /SET=NN- Set the foreground color (no effect when /EV is used)
  127.     /YD=NNN- Plotter Buffer Delay (milliseconds)
  128.     /VP=d:\Path; - Path for the Virtual Memory (Note the ; at the end)
  129.     /FNT=Fontname - Specify the Font File to be loaded

  150. Some additions to the Printed user's manual

  152. Pg 3-4:   Draw, Circle, Setup, Aspect
  153. The aspect ratio is the ratio of the HORIZONTAL to the VERTICAL 
  154. diameter.  For a circle, this ratio is 1.0.
  155.  
  156. Pg 3-8:   Draw, Text, Setup
  157. The angle is measured in degrees, counterclockwise from the vertical 
  158. axis.  If the alignement option FIT is selected, the character size 
  159. will be automatically adjusted so that the typed text will fit 
  160. between the left and right boundaries defined by the user.

  162. Pg 3-16:  Edit, Other, Rubber
  163. This command is used to 'Stretch' lines attached to complex 
  164. entities.  For example, if two lines are attached to a box 
  165. the lines may be stretched as the box is being moved around, fixed 
  166. at the end points that are not attached to the box.  In order to do 
  167. that, however, you need to select the box including the corners to 
  168. which the lines are attached.

  170. Pg 3-17:  Edit, Scale
  171. The user may select the scaling to be LOCAL or not.  If LOCAL 
  172. scaling is selected, then each of the selected elements is scaled 
  173. about its reference point rather than about a global reference point 
  174. selected by the user.

  176. Pg 3-18:  Edit, Xtend
  177. When extending to complex entities, the extension is up to the first 
  178. boundary of the complex entity.
  179.  
  180. After all selections have been made, the user is prompted to 
  181. specify INNER or ANYWHERE.  If INNER is selected, only the lines 
  182. that will physically intersect the extend boundary will be extended. 
  183. If ANYWHERE is selected, all lines, including those that would 
  184. intercept the imaginary line defined by the extend boundary will be 
  185. extended.
