  11. This disk or archive includes all the files necessary to run The
  12. Cambridge Thoroughbred Handicapper Version 5.

  14. We know you're anxious to get started, but we strongly recommend
  15. that you print and read the instruction manual first. It contains
  16. important information about setting up your computer and data
  17. files.
  18.  
  19. To print the instruction manual, type PRINTME and hit ENTER.
  20.  
  21. The program requires a computer with 512K of memory. Please be
  22. sure to read the section on Memory Management on Page 35 of the
  23. instruction manual, particularly if you have a 512K machine.
  24.  
  25. The program also requires that you have a CONFIG.SYS file on your
  26. startup disk that allocates 20 files and 20 buffers. If you get
  27. an error message that says, "Too many files open," you'll have to
  28. change the CONFIG.SYS file. See the CONFIG.SYS chapter starting
  29. on Page 5 of the manual.

  31. To install the program on a hard drive, copy all the files from
  32. this disk to a directory on your hard drive. Switch to that
  33. directory. Then type THORO5 and hit ENTER to run the program.

  35. To install the program on a system with two floppy drives, see
  36. Page 3 of the instruction manual.

  38. If you've used earlier version of our handicapper, please note
  39. that Version 5 runs only in Monochrome mode.
