Rocket
EGA / VGA Mathmatics Game
Version 1.0
Written for the IBM PC and Compatibles
by
Ronald Murphy
The program was written to help my 6 year old with addition and
subtraction. The object of the game is to launch rockets into orbit by
answering addition and subtraction problems. Colored circles,
triangles, squares or rectangles are displayed to help arrive at the
correct answer.
EGA/VGA Required
======= ========
This program will run only on systems with an EGA/VGA adapter.
Execution on system with EGA/VGA support will result in an informative
message stating that EGA/VGA is required.
Rules of Play
====== == ====
The object of the game is to launch up to 5 rockets into orbit by
answering addition/subtraction problems. A correct answer causes a
rocket to gain altitude. If an answer is incorrect:
1. A beep will be heard.
2. 1 penalty point will be assessed.
3. If the rocket is on the launching pad:
a: it will vanish
b: 5 penalty points will be assessed.
Right/incorrect answers are converted to an efficiency rating. An
efficiency rating of 80 percent moves to more difficult problems.
An efficiency rating of less than 80 percent will result in less
difficult problems.
Mathmatics problems deal with :
a: Addition
b: subtraction
c: both
Termination of Play
=========== == ====
The games may be terminated at any time by entering -1 at any ? .
The games automatically terminates when sums greater than 90 are
achieved.
